"After each class, most of us went out for coffee, and quickly many of us became close friends.  We had a kind of rotating dinner party at each other's homes.  We also began to have a dinner dance once a year, then an annual golf tournament with a barbecue, and during the winter holiday season each class had its own holiday event.  The friends I made in this way are still, after eighteen years, the closest friends I have ever had."
