Every new member must have, on joining, an initial evaluation with a program nurse; the fee for this is $180, payable at the time of the initial evaluation.  The monthly program fee is $135 per month billed at the beginning of each month; payment is due by the 18th of the current month.  As a member, you may attend as many exercise classes as you want (we encourage participants to attend at least 3 classes per week).  Spouses may participate in the exercise classes for an additional $40 per month.  Also included is your individualized exercise program, reviewed annually, as well as a half-hour meeting with our dietitian on request.

    If you are going to be absent for personal reasons for more than 32 consecutive days, we'll keep you as a participant with no reinstatement cost for a reduced monthly fee of $67.50.  Please email the office and let them know so your bills may be properly prepared.  There is no charge if you can't attend for medical reasons.  If your situation is not quite covered by this, or you feel you need an exemption for some other reason, please write a letter to the Board of Directors asking for special consideration of your situation.

     Note that your program fees may be a medical deduction for both federal and California income taxes.  Please check with your tax advisor for more information on this.

    Your individual medical insurance may cover some or all of these expenses; please check with them to see if you are covered.  If you determine that these expenses are covered by your insurance, we may be able to bill directly your insurance company.  Medicare does not cover these expenses.

    Please note that, if you or your spouse is covered at work under a Flexible Medical Spending Plan (per IRS Section 125), these costs may be reimbursed by the Plan.  Check with your Plan Administrator for more details and the final word on this.  For your information, a Flexible Medical Spending Plan allows an individual to pay for qualified medical expenses using pre-tax instead of after-tax pay, capped by your pre-tax Plan contribution.

    Financial aid, through the generosity of CTF's donors, is available to qualified participants.  Please contact our Program Director, either by email or in person, should you wish help with your program fees.  All requests are handled confidentially and discreetly.
